It’s the second last round of the VFL Women’s competition and the fate of three teams rides on our RSN Carnival Match of the Day, when the VU Western Spurs host the St Kilda Sharks.
From 10am (AEST) join the Girls Play Footy Radio commentary team for a one-hour pre-game show talking all the issues in women’s footy, then the live call of the match from Henry Turner Memorial Reserve from the first bounce at 11am.
Both sides put in disappointing performances last week, to leave the question of ‘who will make the top four’ open for another round.
The spotlight will be firmly on the Sharks who today can either win and close the door on other sides making the finals, or if they lose, find themselves in a vulnerable position.
Should the Spurs get up, their long shot hopes of making the top four remain alive, but a date with Darebin awaits next week.
Plus, due to a quirk of the draw, Geelong plays the Eastern Devils two weeks in a row. A Spurs win and back-to-back victories for the Cats would see Geelong make the finals in its debut year.
