Only one game is on today for Round 9 of the VFL Women’s competition, with good crowd expected to turn out at Henry Turner Reserve in Footscray to see Darebin take on the Spurs.
It’s a classic ‘eight-point match’ with these two sides sitting second and third respectively, and only percentage separating them.
The Spurs got out of a pickle last week, being four goals down at half-time, to steal a famous one point victory, while the Falcons crushed their opposition by 94 points.
Aliesha Newman and Sarah Jolly were exciting up forward for the Spurs, while Ellyse Gamble and Sarah Lampard were giants in defence.
However, do the Spurs have the talent and depth to contain the likes of Daisy Pearce, Lauren Arnell, Melissa Hickey and Katie Brennan?
Live from 1:00pm (AEST) on RSN Carnival, the Girls Play Footy Radio team will be presenting a one-hour pre-game show, including a preview of the VAFA, Northern, Eastern and South East Women’s leagues, plus the call of the game from the first bounce at 2.:00pm.
