Six weeks after the AFLW Grand Final, the VFL Women’s season finally kicks off for 2017, and Girls Play Footy Radio is pleased to back, beginning with our coverage of the Grand Final rematch between Darebin and Melbourne University.
Live from 1:00pm (AEST) at Bill Lawry Oval in Northcote, the GPF Radio team will be presenting a one hour pre-game show, followed by the call of the match from the first bounce at 2:00pm.
It will be a hard game to predict the outcome, with a number of debutantes for both sides, and some AFLW stars being rested or out through injury including the Falcons’ Daisy Pearce, Lauren Arnell, Aasta O’Connor and Melissa Hickey, as well as the Mugars’ Brooke Lochland and Cecilia McIntosh.
A link to the live stream is provided below, or listeners can download the TuneIn App from iTunes or Google Play to their mobile, then search ‘Girls Play Footy’ for the stream.
Those attending the game are encouraged to bring their radio so they can hear the call delay free on 89.1 FM.
Other VFL Women’s matches on today include Cranbourne hosting the VU Western Spurs at Frenken Homes Oval, Casey Fields, as well as the 3WBC broadcast match featuring the Geelong Cats vs Box Hill Hawks at Simmonds Stadium. Both matches start at 2:00pm (AEST).
GPF Radio hopes to make an announcement on digital radio coverage in Melbourne next week.
