GPF Podcast S3 Ep10: Nicola Kirwan, Sophie Li, Amanda Robertson, Stacey Hughes, Aaron Russell

Episode ten, season three of the Girls Play Footy Podcast is now available to download, and once again we’ve got all your women’s footy news from Australia and around the world covered.

Our feature guest on this week’s podcast is the 2016 AFL Ontario women’s league best and fairest, Nicola Kirwan of the Etobicoke Kangaroos.

We find out in this episode how the Irishwoman ended up playing Aussie Rules in Toronto, plus her feelings on heading to Australia for the first time in August to represent Canada in the AFL International Cup.

Also on the podcast, we catch up with Norwood’s Sophie Li, who was awarded best on ground in the inaugural SANFL Women’s Grand Final, racking up 23 disposals and kicking two goals in her side’s premiership win.

Then we switch focus to the WAWFL and chat with Claremont Women’s Football Club President, Amanda Roberston, whose League division side got their first win in over a year.

Once again there’s another trophy up for grabs in Europe, and this weekend it’s Scotland’s turn to host with the annual Haggis Cup tournament. We talk with Glasgow Sharks captain, Stacey Hughes.

Finally, after round one got washed out, round two will be the season opener and we chat all things QWAFL with Aaron Russell.
